Borrowing and sending books
You can borrow books – a maximum of five at a time for a period of four weeks – if you become a member of the library. There are three types of membership:Basic membership: You pay a one-time registration fee of €3.50 and thereafter €0.75 for each book that you borrow per month.
Annual membership: You pay €16.50 for an annual membership which entitles you to borrow books throughout the year at no cost. Individuals who have an AdamNetpas can request a free membership for the valid duration of their AdamNetpas.
Plus membership: For €25.00 per year, you can borrow books at no cost, and you also have online access to the Gerritsen collection.
Other costs related to borrowing:
The fine for late return of a book, or a late request to renew a book, is €0.50 per book per week.
The cost for sending books by post inside the Netherlands is €2.50 per book.
Books are sent outside the Netherlands by using the International Interlibrary Loan. If you are requesting a book from outside the Netherlands, ask your local library about the costs.
Photocopies
Sending photocopies by post costs €0.50 per copy, including mailing costs, with a minimum charge of €2.50. Sending materal by fax costs €1.15 per page, with a minimum charge of €2.50. Would you like to order copies?Contact
Photographs and posters
The cost for ordering photographs and posters (not including 19% VAT):for commercial use: €45.00
for not-for-profit organizations: €25.00
for private use: €5.00
for delivery on CD-ROM: €10.00 additional charge

Material for an exhibition
Borrowing material for use in an exhibition costs €20.00 for each terms of use contract (to cover administrative costs). For further information about the conditions and terms that apply to borrowing items for exhibit, please contact Aletta’s archivist.archief@aletta.nu
