Aletta has an academic focus in the thematic area of ethnicity.
Research
The first academic chair established by Aletta in 2002 was the Gender & Ethnicity chair at Utrecht University. This chair is held by Gloria Wekker, one of Aletta’s affiliated professors. Saskia Wieringa, Aletta’s director and professor of ‘Gender and Women’s Same-Sex Relationships Cross-culturally’, also conducts research that has a focus on ethnicity.More about Aletta’s affiliated scholars and researchers
