Aletta’s mission is to share knowledge and information about women’s history and women’s position in society as widely as possible and to encourage and promote further research about women and women’s history.

Knowledge center

Academic scholars, university students, and secondary school teachers and students will find a treasure trove of knowledge and information housed at Aletta. Aletta is an ambitious and forward-looking partner, and we collaborate with other women’s organizations, policy makers, journalists, media creators and firms in the private sector. We develop and provide information, knowledge and expertise that is customized to our partners’ needs.

Cultural heritage from the past and present

Aletta sees cultural heritage as more than a collection of historical images, documents and events. We also collect the history that is being made by women today.

Academic study

Aletta wants to promote and be a resource for academic study and research in the area of women’s and gender studies. Aletta currently has a formal institutional affiliation with four university professors; in addition, several other academic researchers are also associated with Aletta.
