Organisation
Aletta is a knowledge institute and archive. The organisation has existed since 1935 and was known as the International Information Centre and Archive for the Women’s Movement (IIAV) until August 2009.
Aletta, Institute for Women’s History, is located at Obiplein 4 in the neighborhood of Amsterdam-Oost. Aletta has a staff of approximately 30. Additionally, a number of scholars, including four professors, are affiliated with Aletta. Aletta also works with a variety of partners on different projects.
