Professor Tineke Willemsen, PhD (Chair)
Tineke Willemsen (1946) is a social psychologist. She was a professor at Tilburg University. From 1992, she held the chair in Gender at Work at Tilburg University, and she later became a professor of Work and Organizational Psychology. She has been a professor emerita since 2005. She has always been committed to improving the position of women within the academy; she was, for example, a member of the board of the Dutch Network of Women Professors. Tineke Willemsen is currently the ombudsperson for students at Leiden University, and she gives career workshops for young female scholars and workshops on Equal Opportunity policies for Deans.
Alma Mahawat Khan, MA (treasurer)
Alma Mahawat Khan (1954) works as programme manager at the ING Bank. She has been active in the women’s movement since the end of the 1970s. She was active as a trainer in VOS courses (Vrouwen Oriënteren zich op de Samenleving). She has served a member of the board of the Lena de Graaf school, a school designed to help women enter or re-enter the labour market, in The Hague; she also served on the national board of women’s occupational training schools. Additionally, she is very active in a variety of Surinamese women’s organizations. She was also a member of the board of the Advisory Council (Raad van Toezicht?) of FORUM, a knowledge institute for multicultural development.
Professor Saskia Keuzenkamp, PhD (secretary)
Saskia Keuzenkamp (1959) studied social sciences and has worked at a number of universities. Since 1997, she has headed the Emancipation, Youth and Family research unit of the Netherlands Institute for Social Research. She also holds a special chair at the VU University in Amsterdam in Emancipation in an international comparative perspective, Saskia Keuzenkamp has also held a variety of positions in women’s rights organizations. She was a member of the board of directors of the vrouwenadviesbureau Arachne and the Emancipation office of the Dutch province of Gelderland. She was also an advisory member of the Netherlands Emancipation Review Committee.
Fione Zonneveld, MA
Fione Zonneveld (1965) is a writer and journalist. She studied Political Sciences. Currently she's working on a novel about the lives of three women in the twentieth century. For twelve years she covered national and international stories as a reporter for EénVandaag (OneToday), one of the leading Dutch news and current affairs programmes in public television. She was a boardmember of Stichting Vrouw en Media (Foundation Women and Media), a foundation dedicated to improving the position of women journalists.
Ms. Anya Wiersma
Anya Wiersma (1972) studied law and social work. She has been an active member of the FNV’s (Dutch federation of labour unions) Women (trade) Union for ten years, and for the last four years, has served as its chair. She is also the chair of the Socialist party members of the city council of Amersfoort. Her portfolio includes empowerment issues, and she took the lead in organizing the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8 in Amersfoort. She is also chair of Stichting KeiRoze, a foundation that organizes social and cultural activities for gay men and and lesbians in Amersfoort.
