Grand Opening and Open House

On Friday, 28 October, Amsterdam’s Mayor Van der Laan will officially open the new building in a ceremony attended by honoured guests and the media. Are you also curious about Aletta’s new facilities? From 19:00 to 21:00, all those who are interested are invited to come to the Open House.

What will there be to see and do?

  • Join one of the tours given by a member of our staff. They will take you from the new library on the ground floor to the depository on the first floor, where Aletta’s collections are stored in safety. Then it’s on to the second floor and the open-plan office space. Take this opportunity to get a peek behind the scenes at Aletta. The architect duo Rocha Tombal Architects is responsible for the design of the new facilities.
  • In the library, you can browse through the books written by and about women. Can’t find the right book for you? The ladies of the Culturele Apotheek (Cultural Pharmacy) will be on hand with free book consultations, based on your personal needs and wishes! www.cultureleapotheek.nl
Reservations for the Open House are not required
