Documentaries and films
Some of Aletta’s projects have resulted in a film or documentary.
Documentary: ‘Women’s healthcare. Discovery and innovation’
Up until the 1970s, the medical establishment did not take women seriously. Women’s specific questions and complaints were not understood. The women’s health movement which emerged during the second wave women’s movement in the Netherlands in the 1970s and 1980s changed that. Documentary filmmakers Grietje Keller and Josien Pieterse have used video interviews with important women from the women’s health movement and combined these interviews with archival images from the 1970s, 80s and 90s. The project has resulted in an inspiring documentary that is available on DVD for €15.00.Read more
